Going back to an important part of the Superman myth was that Krypton was doomed and that the "Man of Steel's" father, Jor-El wants to send him to Earth. Here is a scene where Jor-El, talks to his wife Lara Lor-Van about Kal-El's future on Earth.

"Clark Kent is a journalist who was adopted as a child by Jonathan and Martha Kent after he was transported to Earth from the dying planet of Krypton. Raised with the values of his adoptive parents, he feels alienated because of his unique super powers and struggles to find his own place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero named Superman to protect the Earth and its people."

The countdown has begun, we are in our final days before the release of the "Man of Steel" which will be in theaters on Friday, June 14th in the US.
